James Joseph Cooney (Jimmy),July 9, 1865 – July 1, 1903 and his four sons: Harry, b. 1892; James E. (Jimmy, Jr.) , 1894 – August 7, 1991; Frank, b. 1893, and John (James J.), 1901-1986 made baseball history and became Rhode Island's "first family" in that sport.
