William E. Powers

(1908-1989) ~ Inducted 1977

William Powers, 1908-1998, although blind since the age of twenty, became Probate Judge in Cumberland, then State Representative from Cumberland for ten years. He was Attorney-General of the state from 1949 to 1958, and Associate Justice of the Rhode Island Supreme Court from 1958 until his retirement in 1975.
